--FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- DENVER, CO - April 2, 2007 Colorado Media Matters Exposes Media Whore Liberal watchdog group, Colorado Media Matters revealed on March 30th that Don Wrege's TALKERS Magazine article, written about himself was, indeed, written by Don Wrege ... about himself! (Colorado Media Matters, March 30, 2007 - Boyles touted "write-up in a national magazine," without noting his business partner wrote it) "I guess I left too many clues," Wrege lamented. "Perhaps I should have used a fake name for the author, or not used such an obvious first-person voice when I wrote it. Those folks at Media Matters are way too sharp for me to fool, that's for sure." Wrege, whose main focus has always been to get his name in the media any way he can, was at once elated and distressed. "They came down hard on Peter Boyles," he said. "Peter was simply playing some of our songs for the entertainment of his audience and now everything has come to this." Even though Boyles had identified the article on the air as "...Don's work," and read the opening paragraph, which is a first-person narrative, these subtleties seemed to have been lost on the sharp-eared Media Matters investigators. "I wonder if Media Matters has ever heard of a press release?" Wrege wondered woefully. "I get the distinct impression that the folks at Colorado Media Matters were those kids in elementary school who would remind the substitute teacher we were supposed to have homework over the weekend - diligent yet annoying." Colorado Media Matters featured the expose' on their homepage for several days and inextricably linked to a story about Don Wrege's work on a feature film in 1971. "That's deep background," Wrege mused. "The film's title was 'Asylum of Satan,' so I guess I can see how that ties in with being in the studio with Peter Boyles from their perspective." While Wrege is mentioned
by Colorado Media Matters several times as Boyles' "business partner,"
the only business they are in together is monkey business. "I hope they
don't find out this press release was written by me," Wrege fretted. "That
could blow the lid off this whole scam." CONTACT: Don Wrege - Mediawhore.com Greg Hollenback -
